Did You Know Your DVA Card Could Cover Your Home Cleaning in Perth?
If you hold a Department of Veterans’ Affairs card and live in Perth’s southern suburbs, there’s a good chance you have a home maintenance entitlement you haven’t used yet. One that could cover the cost of getting your windows, solar panels and gutters professionally cleaned — at zero cost to you.
At Baldivis Window Cleaning, we’ve set up a dedicated DVA home services programme specifically for veterans across the southern corridor, from Mandurah all the way north to the Swan River. We handle all the paperwork, lodge the claim on your behalf, and come to you. All you need to do is give us a few details.
What is DVA home maintenance funding?
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs provides eligible veterans with funding for a range of home maintenance services through their home maintenance allocation. The purpose is straightforward: to help veterans maintain a clean, safe and functional home environment without the physical or financial burden of doing it themselves.
Depending on your entitlement, this funding can cover services like window cleaning, solar panel cleaning and gutter cleaning — services that need doing regularly but that many veterans either can’t physically carry out themselves or simply haven’t prioritised. The DVA funds the cost directly, meaning the veteran pays nothing out of pocket.
It’s regular, recurring work. And because it’s funded through your allocation rather than coming out of your pocket, there’s no reason to put it off.
What services are covered?
Through our DVA home services programme, we offer three fully funded services to eligible veterans:
Window cleaning
Perth’s coastal suburbs are hard on windows. Salt air, dust, hard bore water mineral deposits and general grime build up quickly, especially in areas like Rockingham, Port Kennedy, Secret Harbour and Shoalwater, where the ocean breeze carries salt onto every glass surface. Our professional window cleaning service covers internal and external glass across your entire home, including tracks and flyscreens on request. We use water-fed pole systems and purified water to leave a streak-free finish that lasts.
Solar panel cleaning
Solar panels in Perth accumulate a significant layer of dust, pollen, bird droppings and airborne residue over time — and dirty panels can lose up to 30% of their energy output. For veterans who have invested in solar to reduce their power bills, that’s a meaningful loss that a single clean can reverse. Our solar panel cleaning service uses non-abrasive methods and purified water to safely remove contamination without scratching the glass or voiding any manufacturer warranties. Veterans in suburbs like Baldivis, Lakelands and Kwinana have seen real efficiency improvements after a single service.
Gutter cleaning
Blocked gutters are one of the most common causes of preventable water damage in Western Australian homes. Leaf litter, seed pods, dust and debris accumulate in gutters over the dry summer months, and then the first rains of winter push water back against fascia boards, into roof cavities and down external walls. Our gutter cleaning service covers a full clear-out, flush and downpipe check. Suburbs like Casuarina, Meadow Springs and Halls Head are particularly prone to gutter buildup due to tree canopy cover and seasonal leaf drop.
Who is eligible?
DVA home maintenance funding is available to veterans who hold a current DVA card and have an active home maintenance allocation under their entitlement. Veterans source their own service providers — meaning you can choose who carries out the work. You don’t need to use a government-approved contractor list. If you have an allocation and you’d like to use it for cleaning services, you can contact us directly.
If you’re unsure whether your DVA entitlement covers home maintenance cleaning, we recommend contacting DVA directly or speaking with a Veterans’ Affairs Support Worker who can confirm your specific allocation before booking.
What details do we need?
To process your DVA claim, we need just four pieces of information from you:
- Your full name — as it appears on your DVA card
- Your TRN — Treatment Reference Number
- Your DVA file number — found on your DVA card or any DVA correspondence
- Your claim reference — provided by DVA for your home maintenance allocation
Once we have those details along with your service address, we take care of everything else. We lodge the paperwork, process the claim and confirm your booking. You don’t need to fill in forms or chase anything up on your end.
